Course dates: Friday 30 July to Sunday 1 August 2010
The course aims to provide a 'reed-bed experience' for ringers who normally work in a different habitat and is also an opportunity for ringers to obtain an appraisal and sponsorship for an upgrade to a 'C' or 'A' permit or an assessment for a training endorsement.
We aim to have a mixed group of six participants on the course plus four tutors and a backup ground crew. This year we are hoping to have Jez Blackburn as the BTO Rep. Please note that the course is for people who already hold permits, not for absolute beginners.
The list below-right shows the number of birds handled in the previous two courses held at the same time of year and shows the range of birds that may be expected (but not guaranteed!).

Places will be allocated by selecting an appropriate balance of participants and with a
preference being given to ringers looking for upgrades. However any vacancies after 1st
April will be filled on a first come first served basis.
This year it will be necessary for all course participants to provide their own sleeping accommodation e.g. a tent or camper van etc. These can be pitched near to the ringing station where there is plenty of space. (This will enable us to create more room for ringing and demos within the ringing station).
The course fee is £50. This includes the cost of all rings, notes and meals from Friday evening to Sunday lunch plus tea, coffee etc.
You will be notified by 1st. April 2010 if a place has been reserved for you on the course, at which time you will be asked to send a cheque payable to CVRS. I will then send out full instructions on how to find the ringing station and further information about the course.
